The Verifone T650P is a portable Android payment terminal used by retailers, hospitality venues and field teams, and it’s often supplied through rental and lease fleets. Keycovers makes a black Verifone T650P silicone case to protect the terminal body, and we can talk to you about screen protection for the T650P’s touchscreen at the same time.
This post explains what the T650P silicone case is for, who it suits, and how to pair it with a screen protector.
Why the Verifone T650P needs a case
A portable terminal has a harder life than a countertop unit. The T650P gets carried to tables, handed to customers, put down on wet benches, slipped into bags and moved between sites. Over time, that leaves its mark:
- scuffs and scratches on the body and edges
- wear from being handled by staff and hundreds of customers
- grime building up on the casing
- terminals that look tired by the time they come back from a hire or a merchant.
For anyone who owns or places terminals, a scuffed unit means more refurbishment work before it can go out again.
What the Verifone T650P silicone case does
The T650P silicone case is a fitted black case that wraps the terminal body. It’s designed to:
- take the scuffs and knocks of everyday handling instead of the terminal
- add grip for staff carrying the terminal around a venue
- keep the terminal looking tidy between hires
- be swapped when it’s worn, so the terminal can go back into service without a full refurbishment.
Our public range is generic black, so the same case suits terminals going to any merchant.
Screen protection for the Verifone T650P
The T650P uses a touchscreen for almost everything, so the screen takes a lot of wear from fingers, cards, rings and cleaning. A screen protector is a thin, clear layer that takes those scratches instead of the screen, and it can be replaced when it gets worn. If you’re ordering T650P cases, ask us about screen protection for the same terminals and we’ll confirm what we can supply for your fleet.
For what to look for in a screen protector, see our guide on how to choose a screen protector for your payment terminal.
Who uses T650P silicone cases
- Rental and lease fleets: refresh returned terminals between hires by swapping the case.
- Resellers and terminal providers: fit cases at installation, so merchants receive a protected terminal from day one.
- Field service teams: carry spare cases on service visits.
- Multi-site retailers and hospitality groups: keep every terminal looking the same across sites.
Getting the most from a T650P case
- Check the model. The model name is on the label on the back of the terminal. Make sure it says T650P before ordering.
- Fit at rollout. It’s easiest to fit cases while terminals are clean and in one place, before they go out to sites.
- Clean the case, not just the screen. Spray a suitable cleaner onto a cloth and wipe the case down. Don’t spray the terminal directly. Our terminal cleaning guide covers the basics.
- Keep spares. A worn or stretched case doesn’t protect as well. Swapping it is quick.
Verifone T650P protection for fleets
The cost of a damaged or tired-looking terminal goes beyond the terminal itself: swaps, courier runs, refurbishment time and unhappy merchants all add up. Fitting a case to every T650P in a fleet, and keeping spares in the depot, is a simple way to cut down on that work.
Keycovers has made protective covers for EFTPOS terminals in New Zealand for more than 25 years. Alongside the T650P, we make generic black silicone cases for the Pax A920 Pro and A910S, the Sunmi P2 and P3 and the Ingenico Move 5000, and wet covers for the Verifone P400 and 210m.
